If you ask her, this busy mother of 3 may try to convince you that she does nothing extraordinary. Don’t believe it. Mandy Stanfield Power grew up a stone’s throw from Dawson County and graduated from
North Forsyth High School in 2001.
After that and in short order it was off to The University of Georgia. When James Power came to work for her daddy,
Mandy tried to look the other way on her weekends home from Athens. Her moxie to resist his charms was ultimately in vain and fate would have her way, as she always does.
James and Mandy were married in 2005.
The parents of 3 active (did I say active?) girls, James and Mandy make their home in Dawson County where Mandy manages the GA 400 branch of BB and T Bank. A full time job in management and a family schedule would be enough for most people. But Mandy Power isn’t most people. With the gift of a quick smile and a very un arming demeanor Mandy
volunteered the hours in a week most people can’t find. The United Way and The Chamber of Commerce were the big tickets, but behind the scenes, the children’s schools were the real priority for this dedicated mother.
This year Mandy serves as the Chairman of The Board of Directors for the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce. Having a bit of experience in that role, I can only say...WHAAATTT? Our Chamber is thriving, growing and a constant force in the ever changing needs and demands of a community growing at a MACH-FORCE pace. The position is a high profile, time sensitive role and Mandy? She slays it!!
A leader owns the room when she walks into it.
A leader quickly identifies the needs and prioritizes them. A leader is humble. The Chamber, and more importantly, the Power family ( the irony, right?) have a leader.
Extraordinary doesn’t seem near enough....
